Workhunters vs Simplify
Checked against Simplify own site on 2026-08-29
The short version
- Simplify fills in the form and hands it back. Workhunters registers on the portal, fills the form, and presses submit for you.
- More than half the postings we index sit on portals that demand an account and an emailed code before the form even opens. With autofill, that part stays your job. With us, the agent does it.
- Simplify works on any posting you can open in a browser, which is real reach we do not have. We only apply where we have indexed the employer careers page.
- Our applications go out under your Workhunters address, not your personal email, so everything the posting attracts lands in that inbox instead of your own.
Both of us are trying to kill the same chore: typing the same details into form after form. We stop at different places.
Simplify fills the form and hands it back to you. Their site calls it an extension that "autofills job applications on 100,000+ company career sites in one click". You still find the posting, open it, read the answers, and hit submit. One at a time, at your desk.
Workhunters does the finding and the hitting submit. You pick the roles worth going for. The agent opens the posting, fills the form, makes a portal account if the employer demands one, digs the verification code out of your inbox, and sends it.
What Simplify is
Simplify is a browser extension that fills in job application forms from a profile you save once. Their site describes it as autofilling applications on "100,000+ company career sites in one click".
Around the extension sit AI job matching, resume tailoring against a posting, an application tracker, and introductions to recruiters.
It does not submit anything. You find the posting, open it, check what the extension filled in, and press submit yourself.
What Workhunters is
Workhunters is a job search agent. It indexes openings from employer careers pages, matches them against your profile, and then fills in and submits the applications for you.
The part that is unusual is the last step. You approve the roles you want. After that the agent opens the posting, fills the form, creates an account on the company portal if one is required, reads the verification code out of a dedicated inbox we give you, uploads the resume, and submits. It runs on our machines, so it works whether or not your laptop is open.
Replies come back to that same inbox, get read, and move the application status along, so interviews and rejections show up without you sorting mail. Free covers 10 applications a month with no card. A credit is only spent when an application is actually attempted, and it comes back if the attempt fails.
What it comes down to
Simplify keeps you on every application. Nothing goes out that you have not read. Workhunters takes you off them, so applications go out on days you never opened a laptop. Pick based on which one is actually your problem: the typing, or the time.

The question their site does not answer
Who creates the account when a career portal insists on one?
Autofill has a boundary, and it sits at the login screen. 52% of the postings we index are on portals like Workday, iCIMS and Taleo that demand an account and an emailed confirmation code before the form will even open; only about a quarter take a cold application. An extension fills in a form that is already open in front of you, so the registration, the code and the submit click stay yours. Simplify is straightforward about being autofill. Just know that the deal covers more than half of what is out there.
What we do. Every account gets its own Workhunters inbox. The agent registers, reads the code, confirms, fills the form and submits, with nobody at the keyboard.
Pricing
Simplify. Freemium, with a paid tier called Simplify+. No public pricing page. simplify.jobs/pricing returned a 404 when we checked, so figures only appear inside the product. We are not going to restate numbers from review sites. Worth knowing before you hand over an email address to find out.
Workhunters. Monthly plans with one-time credit packs on top. Free covers 10 applications a month with no card. Starter is $29 a month for 100. Pro is $99 a month for 500. A credit is spent only when an application is attempted, and refunded when one fails.
Who each one is for
Workhunters. You have a shortlist and a backlog. You want this week to end with real applications inside employer systems, registration walls included, without you at the desk for any of them.
Simplify. You are going after a short list of roles you care about, and you want to read every word before it lands on someone’s desk.
Where Simplify is the better choice
- Simplify works on any posting you can open. We can only apply where we have indexed the employer careers page, so a role you found somewhere else may be out of reach.
- You do not see each form before it goes out. Some people want to, and that is a fair reason to pick an extension over an agent.
- Simplify does recruiter introductions. We do not do outreach of any kind.
- Simplify is running a minute after you install it. Workhunters needs your profile filled in before it can apply well.
Where Workhunters is the better choice
- The applications get sent. Not queued, not prepared, sent.
- The registration wall is our home ground. 52% of the postings we index demand an account and an emailed code before the form opens, and the agent handles both without you.
- Your personal email stays private. Applications carry your Workhunters address, so replies, codes and recruiter noise land in that inbox instead of your own.
- Postings come off employer careers pages, so you apply where the company posted it, not through a middleman.
- A credit is only spent when an application is attempted, and it comes back automatically if the attempt fails.
Questions
Does Simplify apply to jobs for me?
No. It fills in the form and you send it. As of August 2026 their own site describes autofill, not submission. Workhunters is the one that sends.
Can I use both?
Sure, and plenty of people would. Use Simplify for the roles you want to handle yourself. Use Workhunters for the volume underneath, where you would rather the applications just went.
What does Simplify cost?
They do not publish a pricing page, so we are not going to quote a number that might be wrong by the time you read this. Check their site. Workhunters is free for 10 applications a month, $29 a month for 100, $99 a month for 500.
Which is better for a career change?
A career change usually means a handful of applications where every word counts, and reading each form yourself fits that. It also usually means lower response rates, which is exactly when volume starts to matter. Most career changers end up needing both: a few hand-crafted applications, and a steady stream underneath them.
